Shoestring Getaways

The last couple of years have been financially tough on everyone with the recession taking a bite out of most of our pockets.

It would be lovely to get away for a while and recharge your batteries but with costs soaring it can mean our holiday pot is feeling the pinch. To add insult to injury, the British weather is just not playing ball and if you want a decent amount of sunshine, then we have to look across the waters to our European cousins, and snap up cheap deals such as bargain Benidorm holidays.

Benidorm is a great little place, situated on the Spanish coastline in the Costa Blanca region. With its sandy beaches, clear sea, a good range of accommodation and probably the liveliest evening entertainment this side of Las Vegas, it is a real family winner and as the prices are very reasonable it is also a quick and easy fix for those summer time blues.

If however you prefer your resort a little more laid back without so many bright lights and cabaret acts then the likes of the Algarve might just fit the bill. And with so many cheap Algarve holidays on offer, the budget doesn’t have to suffer either.

Situated against the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea on the coastline of Portugal, the Algarve offers a relaxing sunny holiday with beautiful beaches and a welcoming vibe that runs throughout the resort. It’s yet another great example of a great family holiday but whereas Benidorm can be vibrant and a little over the top, The Algarve exudes a more peaceful ambience.

If you require a something-for-everyone holiday Benidorm has got this in abundance, such is its variety of entertainment and activities. If you require a break where spending time relaxing as a family and exploring the sights and sounds together is paramount then try The Algarve. Either way these are both great shoestring getaways and are bound to leave you with many happy holiday memories.
