Tanzania's premier event, the Annual Charity Goat Races will be held on Saturday 1st September 2012 at the Green, Kenyatta in Dar es Salaam. The Goat Races have the dual aims of raising millions of shillings for a variety of charities as well as providing a unique day out for thousands of people of all ages.

Welcome to the 12th Annual Dar es Salaam Charity Goat Races 2012. As we look back on the achievement of the Dar es Salaam Charity Goat Races, over the past ten years, it is incredible the amount of money that has been raised through this rather quirky event.

Brought to Tanzania by Paul Joynson-Hicks from Uganda, in 2001, who would have thought eleven years on, that a herd of goats running around a track, in Dar es Salaam, would have managed to achieve funds of over Tshs 543,000,000 over 10 years with 102m being raised last year.
