If you like skiing and you’re looking for a place to spend your winter holiday, there are a lot of places around the world worth visiting. However, if you’re looking for the best value for money, here are the top 5 ski resorts to consider:

Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia

The mountains here provide the best skiing experience from North America, and even from around the world. They feature the biggest vertical drop you’ll ever come across to if you’re a fan of skiing or snowboarding. At the same time, the charming village offers everything a tourist might wish for, such as international shops, cafes, and over 100 restaurants offering the most diversified menus. Note that this resort is also preferred by most people in Japan.

Kitzbuhel, Austria

Kitzbuhel is renowned as the “Pearl of the Alps”, and a veritable ski resort. The village is 700 years old, and it offers unparalled landscape views. The atmosphere here can be very chilly, especially at high altitudes. The Austrian tourism is extremely well developed, and Kitzbuhel makes no exception, giving you the possibility to choose from a wide range of shops and restaurants. The first skiing event which took place here happened over 100 years ago, in 1892.

Zermatt, Switzerland

This is another world-class resort, where you are able to get the most out of your money. The whole surrounding here is remarkably peaceful, since there are no cars to pollute the air. This gives you the option to ski and relax all day long. The world’s second biggest vertical drop is hosted here, and you can easily get on top via a funciular. The high attitude makes it ideal for fans of heavy snowfalls, while the lower slopes of the resort receive help from high performance snow machines.

Chamonix Mont Blanc, France

One of the most appreciated holiday resorts in France, this is the place where the first Winter Olympic Games in the world were held, back in 1924. It’s located at the foot of the Mont Blanc, and it reaches the highest attitude of the Alps, at a maxium elevation point of 15.771 feet. It’s also ranked as the second highest peak in Europe, and it holds the rights of an amazing vertical drop, ranging over 9.200 feet. If you dare adventure until the top it’s good to know that you’ll have to run down a huge distance of 13.7 miles. The good thing is that once you reach the base you’ll have a lot of places where to rest, such as international certified coffee shops.

Cortina, Italy

This is another relaxing resort, ideal for skiing and spending quality time. Similar to the above mentioned Zermatt, this resort revolves around a street with no car traffic, resulting in a fresh and clean air. The Winter Olympic Games were held here in 1956, which lead to an increased popularity of this resort. This is the Italy’s most stylish place to spend your holiday; people come here from all around the world for their top class restaurants and great ski conditions.
No matter which of these resorts you might choose, you are guaranteed an authentic ski experience.
